Convert Friends Visit Kaaba

In Surah Al-Hajj, Allah said, “Proclaim to mankind the pilgrimage; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, coming from every deep and distant mountain highway, to witness the benefits for them and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor(Al-Hajj 27-28). In this article, we’d like to introduce you to two new Muslim friends who embarked on their journey to visit the Kaaba after embracing Islam.

Hajj is a profound act of worship with origins tracing back to Prophet Abraham. It’s a journey of self-realization for every believer. For many Muslims, performing Hajj, and especially the moment of seeing the Kaaba for the first time, is an indescribable experience that words can hardly capture. Aisha Rosalie and her friend Nailah Edwards had the same overwhelming feeling when they first laid eyes on the Kaaba.

Rosalie, after visiting Medina, struggled to put into words the excitement she felt during her initial visit to Mecca.

I can’t believe I’m actually here. Honestly, I didn’t stop recording until I finished circumambulation while waiting for the rest of the group. So, I’m waiting now, but I can’t really look at the Kaaba without being emotional,” Rosalie shared her Kaaba visit and her emotions in a video she posted on YouTube.

Why Did Allah Choose Me?

Having recently embraced the Islamic faith, Rosalie wonders, “I can’t stop thinking: out of all the people in the world, why did Allah choose me? Why did Allah choose me to be a Muslim?” Born into a family in the UK with limited religious inclinations, Aisha Rosalie describes the turning point in her life as her visit to Istanbul. She recalled feeling apprehensive due to Islamophobic rhetoric, saying, “I was afraid of being treated badly.” She visited the Sultanahmet Mosque, and the experience left a profound impact on her, not only due to the worshiping Muslims but also the atmosphere.

After this visit, Rosalie embarked on a journey that would significantly transform her life. She continued reading the English translation of the Quran with great enthusiasm and dedication after her return to the UK. Following nearly a year of research, she decided to embrace Islam and began using her social media platforms to share her understanding of Islam and combat Islamophobic narratives.

There’s so much we can learn from the stories of our fellow brothers and sisters who, like us, were born into Muslim lands or those who later embraced Islam. By listening to their stories, we rediscover the beauty of Islam that we sometimes overlook or take for granted.
