Former Anti-Islam Author Joram Van Klaveren Embraces Islam While Writing a Book
Guidance can come unexpectedly, as demonstrated by the remarkable journey of Joram Van Klaveren.
Known as Geert Wilders’ right-hand man, Joram van Klaveren spent seven years in the Dutch Parliament representing the PVV, a party known for its racist ideology. During this period, he actively participated in projects such as placing stickers on the Quran stating, “Muhammad is a thief,” “The Quran is poison,” and “Islam is a lie.” He advocated for measures like closing mosques, removing the Quran from parliament, and banning Islam in the Netherlands.
In 2014, he parted ways with the PVV, intending to write an anti-Islam book, compiling criticisms as a Christian. His goal was to prove that Islam sanctioned violence, anti-Semitism, and other negative aspects attributed to Muslims. However, things didn’t go as planned.
While writing the book, Van Klaveren encountered information that challenged his views on Islam. He realized that Islam wasn’t the way he had perceived it. Instead of proceeding with the anti-Islam book, he decided to correct his misconceptions by writing a different one. The result is his book titled “Murted – From Secularism to Islam in the Era of Terrorism,” which he introduced to the public today.
