Quran on the Pacific Ocean Islands

Translator: Fatıma Nur Dinçer

Our gracious book has been translated into another language. Developments like this are the kind of things that bring a smile to one’s face. Yet the people of another region will be able to understand our holy book, which is great news for humankind. Join us as we take a little trip to the far lands of the Pacific.

A copy of our holy book has been translated into Samoan and will be sent from Turkey, to deliver the message of Islam to the people of the Pacific Ocean islands.

Imam Mohammed Bin Yahya, who has carried out the translation, says he has been working for over two decades to spread Islam in Samoa, reported on Radio New Zealand on Friday (May 12th), adding:

And this led to the translation of the Qur’an into the local language as I saw that people would never accept Islam if they did not know what it was about, they had to see the book which Muslims read and believed in. When we talk about Islam, we get replies such as “What is that?” or “Is that a new drinks name?”.

Imam Yahya, faith leader of Muslims in Samoa, mentions that he has translated the Quran into Samoan to address misunderstandings about the religion.

He also added “It took me a total of 3 years to complete the translation.”

Approximate 2 thousand copies of the translated Quran will be sent from Turkey to Samoa.
